Today a woman in my department came in at about 5pm (having previously been in and been told we close at 5.30pm) and started amassing stuff with the help of her tweenage daughter. We’d already packed 4 bags full of things and the total came to about £400 when the 25 past announcement went. She turned to her daughter and said (really snottily) “come on, we have to finish and leave, regardless of the fact we want to spend money here, they want us to go.” Which was annoying. She then proceeded to put in her debit card, and wander off, and I had to call her back to put her pin number in because the machine would have voided the transaction if I’d left it. She finally pays and picks up all her bags, and tries to go out through the back door before being told it’s locked (the doors being shut and the lights being off and the “we are now closed” announcement over the tannoy apparently not being sufficient) and THEN tries to leave through the OTHER locked door, despite being directed to the front door.
When she finally huffs and grumbles her way around to the right door, she asks to speak to the floor manager, grumbling about locked doors and “spending a lot of money” before being informed that it was the floor manager who had told her the doors were locked and sent her to this one. She then finally huffs out of the shop and has to walk about 5 extra paces to her car.
It’s 5.30, I have been here for 8 hours, I WANT TO GO HOME! Now fucking fuck off.
